Bar Dinner For Dr Ambedkar 25 July 1942
The minute books of the Bar Association are proving to be a real treasure trove. Tucked into a flap of one of the oldest minute books was this rare gem — a printed menu card for the Annual Bar Dinner held on 25 July 1942 at the Ripon Club. The guest of honour was none other than Dr BR Ambedkar himself!
There are also menu cards of Bar Dinners of 1943 and 1944 (where even the most mundane Indian dish is elevated with a suitably stylish description in French).
