Members only
This facility is for Members of the Bombay Bar Association only. Not those who want to become members. Not those who aren’t members. Not those who run companies or want to try their hand at a little recreational spamming. If you’re not a member, don’t bother sending requests for directory access. They will be ignored.
Please do not request access if you are not a member of this Association, the Bombay Bar Association. Access requests from advocates enrolled with the Bar Council but who are not members of our Association will be met with a deafening round of indifference. And for those who really don’t get it: THIS ISN’T THE BAR COUNCIL. THIS ISN’T THE BAR COUNCIL’S REGISTER OF ENROLLED ADVOCATES. THIS IS THE BOMBAY BAR ASSOCIATION. YOU HAVE TO BE OUR MEMBER TO GET ACCCESS. Samjhe?
What you’re supposed to do
- Look hard at the form.
- Look really hard.
- Got it? Bravo! Enter the email address registered with the Bar Association, and the password supplied to you.
But I never got a password!
Don’t fret. Whatever you do, don’t whine. Just send a request for access. Make sure to say that you’re a member. And don’t think we don’t check. We do. Whatever you do, don’t send an email with the body blank and everything in the subject line. We delete those, too.
Then we’ll get back to you.
Like in a month.
Or maybe even two.
Patience is its own reward.
But I forgot my password!
Tsk, tsk. How very remiss of you. Surely it’s the same password you use all over the place? No? Then you’ve been admirably — if somewhat needlessly — cautious (read ‘inefficient’). Same answer as above. Send a request. With the same requirements.
I’ve forgotten my email! I’ve changed my email!
That’s bad. That’s very bad.
You must atone for this egregious lapse by performing suitable penance. We suggest you check back after working out at least ten pro bono briefs or legal aid matters. That should cure your desire for directory access once and for all. If it doesn’t, write an essay in no less than 1000 words explaining how you came to forget an email id, or why you decided to change it. Re-read, revise, edit and finalize your essay. Then throw it away. No one wants to read it.
Alternatively, just make a request, giving your name, and everything we need (see above), and nothing we don’t, and be done with it.
You see, we’re a forgiving lot out here at the Bombay Bar Association.
