Disability Law: Guest Lecture By Prof Jeff Rosen
Members are cordially invited to a lecture on Developments in International Law on Disability by Dr Jeffrey T Rosen on Monday, October 18, 2004, High Court Law Library at 5:00 pm.
The Hon’ble Mr Justice DY Chandrachud, Chairman of the High Court Library Committee will preside.
Dr Jeffrey T Rosen is the General Counsel and Director of Policy of the National Council on Disability, Washington DC. The NCD provides the the President and Congress with analyses and recommendations on federal programs affecting people with disabilities. NCD was the agency that first proposed and then drafted the Americans with Disabilities Act and has thereafter been involved in its implementation.
As NCD’s General Counsel and Director of Policy, Mr Rosen has helped guide NCD’s research in a wide spectrum of disability-related issues including employment, technology, education, human rights, etc. A trial court lawyer, Jeff Rosen is himself hearing-impaired. His speech is clearly intelligible but needs an interpreter to translate speech into sign.
The lecture is jointly arranged by The India Centre For Human Rights & Law; The High Court Law Library; The Bombay Bar Association and The Handicapped-Friendly Association of Mumbai.
